David Jones - 2nd Baritone

David Jones - 2nd Baritone

David started playing trombone whilst a pupil at St Augustine’s school in the 1980s. He took O level Music and subsequently A level Music at Accrington College. During this time he was involved in a number of ensembles, including the Lancashire Youth Concert Band. David then went off to study History at Anglia Ruskin University, and while there he played for the University Swing Band. After starting his career as a History teacher back in Lancashire, David started playing with a number of groups, including New Kings’ Swing Band and Grange Brass. A couple of years ago, having bought a baritone on ebay, David started playing with Darwen Brass. He is still getting used to not sitting on the back row with the trouble-makers. He also now understands how noisy trombones are and wants to apologise to anyone who has sat in front of him over the years. David still plays trombone with the East Lancs Concert Band.
