Bb Bass - Tommy Stringfellow

Started on Cornet aged 9 yrs. with Hesketh Bank. Moved via 2^nd. then 1^stHorn, Solo Baritone then onto Solo Euphonium by 14 years of age.

Principal Euphonium Lancashire Schools band from 16-18 yrs, and then moved onto EEb Bass after joining Lancashire Constabulary Band.

Left Police and then joined Hogarth's Band as principal Euphonium whilst auditioning on Baritone for Black Dyke.

Spent 12 months with CWS Manchester band on BBb Bass under Maurice Handford and Frank Renton. Did my first Whit Friday with them in 1980, winning several 1^stPrizes. 

Joined Wingates on BBb Bass in 1981 and competed in very last British Open at Belle Vue, Manchester.

After Wingate's played BBb Bass with Darwen with Blackburn, Longridge, Kennedys Swinton Concert and Trafford, also played Solo Euphonium for L.E.P. Brindle for a short time.

Stopped playing when Trafford folded in 1997, and re-started on BBb Bass with Blackburn with Darwen late 2005. Moved to Darwen Brass in November 2010.

Have guested with Besses, City ofCoventry, Fodens, and Brighouse over the years amongst other bands.
