Flugel Horn - Janet Walsh

Janet started playing Trumpet at the age of 11 at St James School in Bolton, and then went on to Bolton 6^thFormCollege. Here Janet studied A Level music and played in Smithills Brass Band, Concert Band and Big Band. Janet was fortunate enough to travel far and wide with Smithills Brass Band; her two main highlights were winning a gold medal at the WMC inKerkradeand going on tour toNew Zealand.

From Smithills, Janet joined Hoover Bolton Band, in which she played Flugel Horn and stayed with them for seven years. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, Janet had to step down from her seat at Hoover.

Janet also continues to play Flugel Horn and trumpet in Smithills Community Wind Band and Big Band which are run by Chris Wormald every Saturday morning.

Now after a 3 year break from mainstream banding, Janet has found a home with Darwen Brass playing Flugel Horn.
