Alex - 2nd Cornet
Alex started playing the cornet at the age of 9, having got one as a Christmas present. His first experience of brass banding was a spell at Lostock Hall, were he played in their junior band. He joined the Lancashire Schools' Band in 2006, and was later promoted to the Young Lancashire Brass. He is the principal trumpet for the Lancashire Schools' Symphony Orchestra. He joined Darwen Brass in January 2007 on 3rd cornet and was promoted to 2nd in June 2008, and has remained on this seat ever since. Alex passed his grade 5 theory and grade 6 and is currently studying for his grade 7. Alex is also a season ticket holder for Preston North End.
