Bruce Martin -Our 3rd Solo Cornet

Bruce started his playing with Backbarrow silver on 3rd cornet then moved to Ulverston town band and Barrow youth band.

After 3 years he then moved on to Barrow shipyard were he was principal cornet for 16 years he then moved on to Flookborough silver band and played soprano cornet for a few years then moved out of the district down to Preston. When he arrived in preston he looked for a band and joined Chorley silver for a time and then moved on to Blackburn and Darwen were he spent nearly 25 years until joining Darwen Brass.

Some of the best moments in banding are playing under the batton of the 3 Mortimers,Eric Ball, George Thomson, and Jimmy Edwards to name a few, and meeting such a great bunch of people from all walks of life.
