Anna began playing cornet at the age of 6, moving on to the trumpet and picking up her cornet again when joining Darwen Brass in September 2008. Anna was asked to join the band by Matt Howarth (trombone player and Anna's school music teacher) and since walking through door into the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of Darwen Brass has thoroughly enjoyed being a member since then. She started playing 4th solo cornet and has recently moved to repiano cornet, which she finds challenging but enjoys. Anna has achieved a Grade 8 ABRSM merit on Trumpet and more recently a Grade 8 ABRSM distinction on piano. Anna has recently completed her A-levels at St. Mary's college Blackburn and is taking a gap year to apply for medicine.
